Founder Statement

Our history and our development is the reflection of Myanmar potential.

We started to operate in 2011, and we were, at that time a small company. Myanmar economy grew, and we managed to expand our business accordingly, driven by our purpose.

Today, IME Group is a privately-owned conglomerate, operating in various business sectors – construction, real estate, trading, lifestyle, asset management, and portfolio investments. Our value chain helps us to deal with economic cycles and contributes to the Group’s resilience and ability to build its future. For IME Group, our future relies on our ability to deliver our vision. We aim to make a better future for all. What does it mean for us?

Today, Myanmar people are eager to uplift their livelihood: they want to live in better housing, buy reliable products and services which will enhance their daily life, etc. At IME Group, we are working hard to offer to the rising Myanmar middle-class products and services which are affordable, without any compromise on the quality. To provide this to our customers, we have to work with business partners whose focus is aligned with ours. We also rely on the commitment of our employees and shareholders. Without their trust, IME Group would not have been able to expand its business, and will not be able to continue to do so.

IME Group is already delivering sound results. Last year, our 650+ people served  26,000+ customers, who are extremely satisfied with our services. We allocated MMK 35+ million to develop the skills of our people. In March 2019, we conducted a survey to assess the satisfaction of our people, which covered 53% of our employees: 77% of them are satisfied with the working environment offered by IME Group. I am proud of these results: we are on the right track, but we know that more needs to be done.

Indeed, our strategic goals are paving the way forward. We are investing to secure IME Group’s future to (i) build a strong corporate culture, (ii) transform our corporate governance and structure our management approach to corporate responsibility.

I trust IME Group’s ability to create value for all its stakeholders. This is how we will build a strong and sound leadership position in Myanmar, and why we will be able to fulfill our vision to make a better future for all.
